Letters About Literature
RI schoolchildren write letters to their favorite author
A national reading-writing contest for children in grades 4 through 12, sponsored by the Library of Congress Center for the Book and the Rhode Island Center for the Book, in partnership with Target Stores. For more information, as well as guidelines and a Teacher's Guide, click here. This year's deadline for submission was December 12, 2009. Look for an announcement of the winners and honorable mentions in early April, 2010

Co-sponsors of the art of the book lecture series have been the Providence Athenaeum, the John Russell Bartlett Society, the New England chapter of the American Printing History Association, the Friends of the Library at Brown University, the University of Rhode Island and New Leaves Press.
